WordPress Native Split Tests with Nelio A/B Testing – Review

Split testing (or A/B testing) is a very interesting topic that I’ve read about many times, however sadly I hadn’t found the time and opportunity to try out any services for conducting such testing until this week. As many of you already know, one of the main products from the WP Mayor team is the WP RSS Aggregator plugin and its premium add-ons.

Since launching the premium add-ons around a year ago I’ve been wanting to do some conversion testing with the website, so after checking what options were available I decided to test the waters with the Nelio A/B Testing solution. In this post I’ll be sharing my review of this service based on this experience.

Where Can I Learn About WordPress?

Every now and then I receive an email asking me for advice on resources where one would start learning about WordPress. Specifically, such enquiries tend to focus on going beyond the basics. Here’s what I recommend.

First WordPress Multilanguage Theme Released on Themeforest

Have you ever heard of a theme has built in front-end and back-end multilingual support for over 14 languages? No? Me neither, but there’s one out!

Langwitch has just launched, exclusive to ThemeForest. Feedback is good till now, with a good number of satisfied customers. It also seems to be generating a lot of interest. It is one of those do-everything themes, so it will most likely garner split-feedback, as many people in the WordPress community are advocating for a return to simplicity in WordPress themes.

How to Create Jump Links in WordPress

In this video I show you how to create links that reference areas on the same page. This type of link is known as a jump link as it lets you jump from one part of the page to another.

How to Migrate WordPress Multisite

Migrating a WordPress Multisite installation can be a tricky business. It’s not as straightforward as it is with single site installations, and there are no plugins to help you out. In this tutorial I highlight the steps I use to perform such Multisite migrations successfully.

How to Set Up a Content Delivery Network (CDN) for WordPress Sites

Are you interested in improving the performance of your website? What if I told you that you could potentially shave off a few seconds off its loading time? A CDN might be what you’re looking for, read on and learn about my experience with setting one up on one of my WordPress blogs.

How to Insert BuySellAds Banners into WordPress

Banner advertisements are one of the major money makers for most blogs, and BuySellAds is a great network to use whether you’re an advertiser or a publisher. BuySellAds helped WP Mayor survive during the early days by providing monthly income to cover hosting and other small expenses. I still use them to handle advertising on this site and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Book Review: Design for Conversions by Brian Casel

I am currently working on some site redesigns and as usual, I started to take a look around for some inspiration. It was then that I came across ‘Design for Conversions’, by Brian Casel.

Now this is not your typical web design book, what caught my eye is that Brian is specifically talking about design for a particular purpose, in this case conversions. In reality, we all want better conversions for our sites, don’t we? However not all design books and resources take that into consideration.

Book Review – The Year Without Pants by Scott Berkun

Today I want to share my review of one of the best books I’ve read in the past months, The Year Without Pants by Scott Berkun. It’s a book that has been selected as one of Amazon’s best books of 2013, and in my opinion anyone who works with WordPress should go through it.
